CaixaBank goes from banker to finance trainer
CaixaBank has formalised the signing of a new tripartite partnership involving the Spanish State Public Employment Service Sepe and Fundae, a state foundation for employment training. Their joint work will focus on the democratisation of training in economics and finance. The bank is thus taking on a new extra-financial role that is resolutely focused on education.
FACTS
-
CaixaBank wants to train the future financiers of Spain. With the Sepe and Fundae, the bank is offering training courses open to all, and free of charge in 100% online sessions.
-
A space on the Fundae foundation website is dedicated to the dissemination of content developed by the bank's teams on various topics:
-
introduction to trading,
-
corporate finance,
-
taxation,
-
analysis of the market situation,
-
current economic issues.
-
-
A total of 32 courses will be given. The trainers include economists from the CaixaBank Research team and other independent experts.
-
All Spaniards wishing to gain new expertise to improve their employability or progress in their professional career are invited to attend these courses.
CHALLENGES
-
Promoting financial literacy: CaixaBank is now emphasising its commitment to enabling as many people as possible to benefit from its expertise. It is thus enhancing its status as a financial specialist, while emphasising an altruistic approach based on sharing its know-how.
-
Pursuing its diversification: CaixaBank is now capitalising on the signing of its partnership with state bodies to demonstrate the seriousness of its initiative. At the same time, the bank is enhancing its core business to position itself as a player in education. It is thus continuing along the extra-financial path and taking a new step in terms of diversification.
MARKET PERSPECTIVE
-
The spearhead of CaixaBank's diversification strategy was previously Imagin, its offer dedicated to young people and focused on a set of services that were more lifestyle than purely financial. It thus relied on an affinity approach to offer multiple value-added services to its customers, with already an attraction for education and the dissemination of culture. Indeed, as early as 2017, CaixaBank was banking on the creation of a space for sharing and culture with its ImaginCafé.
-
Among other initiatives, the bank has been offering a "Classroom Program" to small shareholders since 2010 to help them make the best investment decisions. CaixaBank also chose to form an association to found CaixaBank Dualiza in 2021, a new professional training organisation that has since served 21,889 students, 2,677 companies and over 1,435 educational centres.
