Four International Partnerships for Ingenico
- Ingenico’s TransferTo subsidiary specialising in real-time international funds transfers has widened its geographical coverage through four agreements: in the United Arab Emirates with the operator Al Ansari, in Cambodia with MFone, in Nigeria with Globacom as well as in Europe and North America with Small World (an independent company holding some 140,000 branches).
- To make an international airtime transfer, the sender will specify the recipient’s mobile phone number as well as the amount. Once the payment made, his transfer is processed in real-time and the recipient is informed of the reloaded amount by SMS.
- Existing funds transfers channels are key strategic development issues in developing countries. Nevertheless, the charges applied to these universal means of payments are not adapted to small amounts. This considered, transferring dedicated phone airtime corresponds to a steadily increasing need. It is thus of particular interest to unbanked people, often living far away from traditional funds transfers branches.
