New Cark Park Payment Solution by MotionID
- During CeBIT 2011, Munich-based company motionID Technologies AG presented its new Viatag solution consisting in fixing a sticker with NFC chip on the car’s windshield. When the car drives past the automaton which integrates a contactless reader, the driver pays automatically and in real-time.
- A large professional public is targeted by this new solution: car manufacturers, car park managers, drive-ins, gas stations, etc.
- As is the case with microSD chips, contactless stickers are alternatives to NFC mobile phones. In fact they make it possible to embed contactless technologies in just any phone and any medium to potentially authorise payments.
- This shows the current interest in alternative technologies designed to provide for the adoption of contactless solutions without clearly defined sharing model between banks and mobiles operators.
- Several solutions integrating contactless stickers have been tested these past few years: Twinlix stickers in Nice, MultiCard stickers by Rabobank, Touchatag and Clear2Pay stickers, Go Tag by First Data and Inside Secure (former Inside Contactless), etc.
