The tightening of the rules on consumer credit is taking place

The French Government working It has long been necessary to strengthen legislation around the activities of the BNPL and the mini credits. Its action today takes the form of a decree which will enter into force on 20 November 2026. With the number 2026-105, this decree aims to modernise the French regulation on consumer credit, harmonizing national law with the European Directive 2023/2225 and strengthening the protection of borrowers against mini-credits.
