CHALLENGES

  • Attract younger customers. Renault Pass clearly states prospecting goals and the group’s intend to target younger customers, while making room for already expressed customer demands.
  • Enhancing their range of offers, in addition to their existing typical credit offers and all-inclusive long-term rental service Easy Pack.
  • A pragmatic view of flexibility. With this offer on a fast-evolving car industry, this manufacturer stresses a disruptive approach. They add flexibility, without drastically cutting down the leasing term, as rival players did. Besides, Renault says that car dealerships would be unable to profit from car trade-ins with terms shorter than 24 months.
  • Even so, their offer is widely made available for a large range of car models and across their entire network, which highlights its value proposition. This example then differs for the test phases carried out by Seat with the Arona model.

MARKET PERSPECTIVE

  • Over the past months, car makers have been relying more on experiments on these kinds: Audi, PSA and Seat are among examples in France, and Volvo, Cadillac as well as other start-ups on other markets… As many pilot experiments which haven’t yet turned out to be economically viable.
