In Brief: JP Morgan prepares its crypto wallet
US bank JP Morgan continues its advance into the world of web3 and crypto-assets with a major announcement. The banking giant is reportedly preparing to launch its own crypto asset wallet.
The US Patent and Trademark Office, the USPTO, has indeed announced that the American bank has just taken a first step in this direction by registering the trademark "J.P Morgan Wallet".
Among the financial services covered by this JP Morgan Wallet, we will therefore find several related to crypto-assets:
provision of electronic transfer of digital currencies;
financial exchange of digital currencies;
processing of payments in crypto-currencies.
The bank recently announced that it would participate in a project of the Monetary Authority of Singapore alongside two other banks. The objective of the project? To map concrete use cases of digital assets in the field of decentralised finance.
JP Morgan is also very active in the metaverse segment through its Onyx brand, which has a space on Decentraland.
