ALD Move continues to expand

ALD, the Société Générale Group's specialist car leasing subsidiary, entered the MaaS (mobility as a service) market in 2019 with its ALD Move offering. Since then, this personal mobility assistant has been greatly expanded in terms of functionalities and is also expanding geographically by serving new users across Europe.

FACTS

  • ALD Automotive is continuing the deployment of the ALD Move multi-mobility solution in Belgium. The group has thus opened up to Belgian companies to provide them with its all-in-one service for managing, planning, booking and paying for mobility services for employees.

  • ALD Move's corporate customers can offer their employees the service via three complementary tools:

    • an application dedicated to planning their multi-modal journeys and uploading receipts and claims for reimbursement,

    • an online interface to manage their mobility budget,

    • a MasterCard payment card (virtual or physical) dedicated entirely to the payment of their mobility services.

  • Fleet Managers, Mobility Managers and HR professionals have access to a centralised administrative management platform allowing them to :

    • monitor and define employee mobility budgets and expenses (via a monthly "mobility credit")

    • track their CO2 emissions and export a report on the carbon impact of employees' daily mobility

    • activate the mobility services authorised by the company,

    • establish spending rules.

  • ALD Move provides for the management of multiple modes of transport (train, bus, coach, bike or car rental, metro, shared bike, VTC, car sharing, car pooling, scooter, scooter, etc.). The costs of parking, fuel and electric recharging for company cars are also covered.

CHALLENGES

  • A step-by-step deployment: The deployment of ALD Move in Belgium follows the successful implementation of the service in France last May. It is also part of ALD Automotive's ongoing Move 2025 strategic plan to provide innovative and sustainable mobility solutions to corporate customers across Europe.

  • An effort in the transition to sustainable mobility: ALD is also positioning itself as a player committed to eco-responsibility. The group offers its customers an analysis of the benefits of using multimodal mobility for their employees before they sign a contract. It also offers employee profiling, predictive calculations of CO² emissions, projections of the total cost of mobility and the savings made by the company thanks to ALD Move. While the aim is to replace the use of company cars, the service also covers the costs associated with this mode of mobility to ensure a smooth transition in habits.

MARKET PERSPECTIVE

  • ALD Automotive is now a world leader in leasing and fleet management, with customers in 43 countries and a total of 1.76 million vehicles under its belt. It continues to diversify over the years and is due to complete the acquisition of LeasePlan at the end of the year, although the UK competition authority has announced that it is investigating the deal to see if it would harm competition in the UK.

  • Its launch in Belgium also follows ALD's acquisition of a stake in Swiss start-up Skipr, which specialises in mobility credit and multimodal mobility.
