MasterPass Fast Growing
- WORLD – MasterCard announces the implementation of MasterPass by Japanese e-commerce website Rakuten.com Shopping.
MasterPass was launched last February, and already managed to convince an e-commerce giant. MasterCard and Visa have both committed to improve the acceptance of their e-wallets. In British processors/acquirers Global Payments announced it would support V.me by Visa, thus stepping in WorldPay’s footsteps.
New Customer Processes for Be2Bill
- FRANCE – Rentabiliweb and EvoKe have launched “Click & Collect” allowing Be2Bill to widen its range of delivery and payment options.
Initially focused on the e-commerce sector only, Rentabiliweb now shows interest in retail location, too. This partnership could also help improve its visibility.
UK Retail Sector Seizing M-payment Opportunities
- UK / IRELAND – AIRTAG partners with KFC on KFC Fast Track, a new QR code-based ordering and payment solution.
- UK – Marks & Spencer trials a new m-payment app relying on barcodes, letting its customers order and pay with their mobile phone.
The largest UK-located merchants now bet on mobile pilot tests combining marketing and payment features. Barcodes, rather than NFC technologies, have here been selected by two leading industry players.
MasterCard’s Increasing Presence in China
- CHINA – Alibaba and MasterCard have partnered to help develop the Chinese e-commerce sector. MasterCard cards are now accepted on Alibaba’s websites.
