GlobalCollect integrates BOKU’s mobile payments Solution

  • GlobalCollect has entered a global partnership with BOKU and integrated BOKU’s payment platform into its own international payment network thus enabling its e-merchants to accept carrier-billing-based mobile payments at checkout.
  • GlobalCollect trust that BOKU’s solution’s ease of use should help e-merchants significantly increase their market reach and conversion rates very soon. BOKU covers more than 60 countries through over 250 mobile operators, representing roughly 3.2 billion potential customers.
  • GlobalCollect’s merchants can now propose e-payment transactions relying on their customers’ mobile phone number (the letter “Y” is sent by SMS to confirm payments) and charges will appear on their operator’s bill.

  • BOKU focuses on its expansion, as illustrated by this announcement, but also by the agreement reached with WorldPay in February (see February 2012 Insight) and, one month later, its securing 35 million dollars. This step may help favour the use of mobile devices in online payments contexts.
  • GlobalCollect, in charge of processing transactions derived from various sectors (travel, ticketing, telecommunications, retail, publishing, online gaming, digital content, etc.) then benefits from the expertise of a carrier-billing specialist to enhance its offer which already includes a wide range of local and international means of payments (credit and debit cards, direct debits, real-time bank transfers, e-wallets, cash at outlets, prepaid methods, checks, invoices, etc.).
