Acceptance: Partnership between BOKU and WorldPay
- BOKU, the e-payment specialist proposing billing technology, announces its new acceptance-based partnership with the PSP WorldPay to cater for its mobile strategy through integrating its payment platform into WorldPay’s network. Its merchant subscribers can now enable their customers to pay using their mobile carrier’s bill.
- The validation process has been simplified: the purchaser only has to enter his mobile phone number and confirm with the letter “Y” via SMS. This process only requires a few seconds.
- BOKU is available in over 60 countries through 260 mobile network operators (including AT&T, Vodafone and Verizon); it represents four billion potential customers for merchant acceptors.
- Mutual enhancement of the two companies’ customer bases relies at the centre of this partnership: widened acceptance for BOKU and access to databases of potential mobile users for WorldPay’s merchants. According to a recent study conducted by the PSP, the notion of convenience is one of the main preoccupations of purchasers: 39% claim they are dissatisfied with the amount of time required for each transaction and 38% by the amount of information asked by retailers.
- BOKU has also announced a new offer, called “BOKU Accounts”, allowing MNOs to propose white label mobile payments. This universal payment solution will make it possible to pay online and in physical MasterCard accepting stores through providing a mobile phone number.
