Jumio Launches Netswipe
- Jumio launches Netswipe: a new online payment tool. This solution relies on card capture taken through the computer’s webcam. Once his card scanned, the cardholder must enter a secret code and does not have to reproduce any other personal and banking data.
- According to Jumio, the amount of time saved on the side of the cardholder should also benefit the e-merchants and enable them to improve their conversion rate. Jumio claims this solution makes it possible to lower merchant commissions and enhance security as the card is needed to process the transaction.
- This solution resembles the mobile solution recently launched by Card.io. In this case, the picture of the card is used to retrieve the required transaction data. Once this process completed, all sensitive pieces of information are automatically removed to avoid storage and related risks.
- NetSwipe may be an original alternative to traditional e-payments requiring personal data, but it not a fraud prevention solution. Its interest mostly relies in the ergonomic aspect added to the payment experience.
