Customisation: Société Générale Proposes Co-creation of Card Visuals

  • Société Générale opens the “Affichez votre style” competition (display your style) from 7th July to 31st August. Three card visuals will be selected and added to the 2012 Collection.
  • Challengers are divided into three categories: under-16, over-16 and graphic designers. The proposed pieces must fall into two themes representative of the bank’s standards: team spirit and nature.
  • In the end, three visuals will be selected: winners and competitors will be awarded with gifts including an iPad and a graphics tablet.
  • Société Générale’s Collection currently includes 150 visuals, for about 360,000 cardholders, and almost half of these are So Music cards (in partnership with Universal Music).
  • In France, Société Générale pioneered in developing a wide range of bank cards through the variety of proposed visuals as well as through several partnerships with different organisations. It even was the first French bank to bet on charity cobranding and partner with associations.
  • With regard to card customisation and co-creation, it follows a trend initiated by other players such as Caisse d’Epargne which proposes the “Carte Blanche” (white card) competition allowing young customers to design their card visual.
  • This new initiative only differs in the categories it includes (distinguishing graphic designers’ creations). This competition also helps support the bank’s communication campaign on team spirit.
