New O2 Application
- The British operator O2 launched a new mobile application for iPhone and Android to provide O2 Money customers with the possibility to transfer funds between O2 Money cards in real-time.
- This new application was designed by the Irish payment solutions specialist 3V. Users can also access a dashboard to check on their account balance and transaction history. A geolocation function was also added to help them identify the closest reloading point of sale.
- O2 associated Visa, 3V and Payzone to launch the O2 Money card in February. The card is available in O2 stores and enables payments in Visa network (convenience stores and e-merchants). Maximum reloading amount was set to 350 euros per day and minimum amount to 20 euros. More than 15,000 cards are now in circulation and 76% of the transactions were made on the Internet.
- Visa also recently launched its own P2P payment service.
