Wero, Bancomat and SIBS-MB WAY conduct their first cross-border transactions

Wero (France-Belgium-Germany), Bancomat (Italy) SIBS-MB WAY (Portugal), announced the success of the first cross-border transactions between their payment networks, validated under a proof of concept (POC). Weared by Agreement signed in early 2026 between the European Payments Initiative (EPI) and EuroPA (European Payments Alliance), this life-size test proves the operational and technical feasibility of interoperability of European mobile solutions without a non-European intermediary. A first should mark the beginning of a new payment landscape for European consumers and traders.
