Sage Partners with GoCardless

FACTS

  • The multinational enterprise software company Sage partners with GoCardless –British FinTech which specialises in dematerialising Direct Debit-based recurring payments.
  • Goals: Setting links between their platforms and enabling entrepreneurs to avoid tedious administrative procedures. Eventually, securing the collection of receivables and optimising cash management flows.
  • How? With this partnership, and a native link with GoCardless solution, Sage’s users can send Direct Debit mandates more easily, along with the invoices they forward to their customers. Direct Debit authorisation requests are, in fact, implemented automatically as the invoice is sent.

CHALLENGES

  • In a constantly evolving environment and under pressure from international competition, SMEs must modernise their tools to sustain their development. Every means to improve operational efficiency and rationalise processes is likely to ensure competitive edge.
  • For the Cloud-based software vendor, the idea is to save time and money to their client companies. The group claims they want to help them focus on their core business and growth.
  • As the market for Direct Debit management software keeps expanding, GoCardless keeps relying on a partnerships-based strategy to diversify their activities.

MARKET PERSPECTIVE

  • GoCardless designed an app which connects to accounting specialists’ tools using a set of APIs. This British FinTech keeps gaining ground: after Ibiza, MEG or EBP Horizon, they attracted Sage. Their proposed prices evolve based on transaction volumes as well as on additional associated offers.
  • Just like GoCardless, rival FinTechs –including SlimPay– are also aiming for diversifying their services and relying on partnerships to achieve this goal. Zuora, for instance, recently announced a partnership with Amazon Pay on optimising pay-per-use services.
