In brief: Mollie settles in Italy

Mollie has announced the deployment of its platform in Europe's fourth-largest e-commerce market: Italy.

The financial services provider will offer Italian companies its platform and services for payment processing, financial reporting and fraud prevention.

Mollie is banking on a local, customized offering to win over Italian companies. The fintech has set up operations directly in Milan, from where it plans to expand throughout the country. Aware of the lack of offerings on the market, Mollie aims to tailor its product to perfectly match local needs.

The fintech has already announced that it will offer major Italian payment solutions such as Satispay and Bancomat Pay, which should facilitate adoption. Plug-ins to the main e-commerce platforms will also be available to facilitate online transactions.

This step demonstrates the fintech's progress towards its European ambitions. To this end, the fintech has developed a number of strategies, from opening up new markets to forging strategic partnerships.

Mollie's latest partnership was announced last July with Riverty, with the aim of offering BNPL services to European merchants.
