AG2R Adds Long-Term Rental for Bikes
The insurance company AG2R La Mondiale introduces “Roulons Vélo”, a long-term bike rental service. This option was crafted in partnership with ViaSanté and Toulouse-based start-up Pangée to combine bicycle rentals and a set of assistance and insurance services. More than 300 references are proposed to meet various needs (mountain bikes, electric bikes, kick scooters, gyropodes, etc.).
Pangée was founded in 2014 in Toulouse. This start-up focuses in long-term rentals for sports, health and connected equipment. Their services apply to both individual and corporate customers. They already have around 100 partner stores for their solution.
“Roulons vélo” long-term rental service is available from €22.90/month over 12 to 48 months (for low-end products with an initial €101.90 payment). Also, optional insurance and assistance services are proposed, as well as equipment-specific accessories (helmets, GPS, anti-theft devices, etc.).
Customers may subscribe online (at www.roulonsvelo.fr) and sign their contract digitally. The product is then shipped to their home address, assembled and adjusted. The user can choose another piece of equipment at any moment, and may also decide to buy the bike he has been renting when the leasing contract ends.
Comments – Mobility: still a key issue for financial companies
The rental market is expanding fast, even leading players from other sectors to diversify their offers: banks, for instance, are also entering this market. Current mobility-related issues are central and attention must be paid in assisting end users.
Crédit Mutuel-CIC also aimed for diversification when they introduced a lease-purchase option for electric bikes: €29.90/month for three years.
This bike rental service is a strategic addition for AG2R La Mondiale: a group which has even had their own eponymous cycling team for 20 years, to stress their commitment to promoting this activity. They now take one more step in helping build today’s ecomobility with a dedicated offer.
