Voice Biometry: New Solution by Nuance Communications
- Nuance Communications launches versions 7.0 of its voice biometry solutions, VocalPassword and FreeSpeech, meant to secure critical operations, such as banking transactions. Several players could be interested in these evolutions, among these: mobile operators, social security administrations, companies, but also governmental agencies.
- Since its acquisition of PerSay, leader in the field of voice biometry in the end of 2010, Nuance Communications widens its range of innovative solutions (identity verification in mobile situation and on the Internet, risk management, regulatory compliance, fraud and identity theft prevention –with a notable focus on communication interception and phishing).
- VocalPassword enables automatic distant voice-based verifications and FreeSpeech is used to check on customers’ phone calls and prevent fraud attempts.
- According to Voice Commerce, the implementation of voice biometry solutions could contribute to lower the risk of fraud and help remedy the significant augmentation noted by the NFA in the UK (See “Fraud Figures: UK Figures”).
- In addition, Voice Commerce is now a full member of the UK Payments Council. This institution, founded in 2007 by payment industry players, is in charge of establishing UK payments strategies. Full members can tackle notions such as future payment strategies, their European (or even, international) development, regulatory and standard-related topics, but also issues including security, payment data integrity and innovating solutions.
- The integration of Voice Commerce proves that both payment players and decision makers are interested in these kinds of solutions and open to their possible implementation.
