Mobile Collection: Ingenico Launches 1st EMV-Compliant Case
- POS terminal manufacturer Ingenico has launched iSMP, an EMV- and PCI-PTS compliant case developed for in-store mobile collection via an iPod touch and iPhone 4 or 4S.
- This device is compatible with all the payment apps already proposed by Ingenico and enables contactless payments acceptance (MasterCard PayPass and Visa payWave). It also displays a 1D and 2D barcode reader (to improve stock management).
- The mobile app Libertishopping, for its part, has been designed to optimise terminal estate management and allows access to a centralised payment platform. This solution also helps ensure customers’ satisfaction through integrated loyalty programmes (customised advise, cross-selling, purchase history, etc.).
- Ingenico is the first French player to propose this kind of mobile cash collection solution. Conscious of the part played by acceptance in the purchasing act and in securing customers loyalty, it encompasses a smart card and a mag-stripe card reader as well as NFC payment.
- As it is also aware of EMV-related issues in France and in Europe, generally, Ingenico follows the example of other players proposing Square-like tools without forgetting to address EU requirements (iZettle in Sweden for instance).
