Authentication: Alliance around NFC Transactions Security
- NXP Semiconductors, AuthenTec and DeviceFidelity have announced their joint development of an Android-based mobile terminal enabling NFC payment transactions with enhanced authentication features through fingerprint recognition.
- The three manufacturers also have associated to perform the very first successful NFC payment transaction validated through biometrics in the US. This demonstration required a Motorola ATRIX 4G equipped with AuthenTec’s AES1750 sensor, DeviceFidelity’s In2Pay microSD card and NXP’s NFC technology.
- The three companies are also planning future collaborations on relatively close projects to promote the growth of NFC technologies and provide for the development of e-purses in the US as well as in other regions.
