easycash Buys BTG
- In Belgium, the German debit acquirer-processor easycash, subsidiary of Ingenico, buys the local Independent Sales Organization BTG. Its installed park counts 2,000 merchants equipped with Gemalto, Thales/Hypercom and Ingenico POS terminals.
- The German leader easycash becomes a non-banking acquirer in Belgium for the local brand BC-MC (see below two cases) as well as for MasterCard and Visa.
- The Belgian market counts an intermediary player which does not exist in France: the distributor/processor is in charge of collecting transactions and also plays the part of an installer/maintainer, it also sees to the technical aspects managed by the acquirer. The later is still responsible for payment clearing presentation, for making sure merchants are being credited and dealing with the issues of unpaid debts and fraud.
- Through this external growth, easycash becomes international and reaches out of the German speaking countries. Also, Ingenico intends to pressure NFC acceptance. This operation helps promote the new business that the manufacturer wishes to develop for merchant transactional services. Its Transaction Solutions division, created in 2009, covers several offers: payment aggregation, park management, accounting/reporting, marketing analysis/loyalty applications.
