Biometric Authentication: Neurotechnology’s VeriSpeak
- Neurotechnology launches VeriSpeak, a voice recognition device with additional speech identification functions (passphrase) to allow strong authentication of the user.
- This set enables two-factor voice identification and can be used with a traditional microphone, which makes its implementation less expensive. It can also be used to identify customers as they make payments or e banking operations.
- For more flexibility and additional security, VeriSpeak can be associated with other biometric authentication tools in the MegaMatcher 4.1 suite: face, fingerprint, and hand vein recognition or iris scan.
- Several cases of fraud involving call centres have been noted these past weeks (See April 2011 Watch). These platforms are used by several organisations and financial institutions; as such, they are choice targets for fraudsters. Recordings are sometimes used to lure the systems, voice biometry and contextual parameters (human factor, non-predefined questions, etc.) can help avoid this threat.
