Security and Online Games: Prosodie Selects Q1 Labs for GENY infos
- Prosodie selected the security solution provider Q1 Labs to respond to GENY infos’s needs and help them secure their online gambling portal. The proposed solution relies on application services externalisation and hosting. Genybet infrastructure is operated Q1 Labs QRadar secure platform, which, according to Prosodie, is “highly automated, easily deployed and integrated well with [their] own custom-written alerting and helpdesk systems”.
- In fact, the French authority in charge of online games, ARJEL, imposes that “online gambling sites […] be able to show auditable controls for dealing with all security incidents as well as an ongoing secure environment for the management of all customer data and transactions”.
- It should be reminded that by virtue of the French law n° 2010-476, enacted 12 May 2010, regarding online gambling and the opening of this market to competition, the ARJEL is described in article 34 as the authority in charge of granting, or not, the required authorisations. In compliance with article 34, paragraph III, it also makes sure that the following points are respected:
- Set technical features of online gambling platforms and software for authorised operators,
- Approve gambling software used by the operators,
- Periodically assess the security level proposed by these platforms,
- Define online games technical parameters as often as necessary and check that they comply with regulatory requirements.
- All gambling software and platforms are regularly audited to make sure they comply with the required level of security and regulatory recommendations; these audits can be completed with additional audits of code.
- Each transaction must also be traced (timestamping, chaining, encryption); these traces are then stores securely.
