Hi-media monetises online games Websites for three vendors
- Three French online game vendors have selected as their payment processor (e-PSP) the French online processor and announcer Hi-media.
- These three new customers: Owlient, Chapatiz and Virtual Tweens, sell multi-player virtual games intended for a young public. They gather more than 20 million users altogether, mostly located in Europe (Germany, Poland, and France, notably). Hi-media monetises the content of online games through various micro-payment solutions.
- Its Hi-media Payments division processes eight million transactions per month via its Allopass bundle payment product to e-merchants. The tool integrates several online payment collection methods: mobile operator and ISP billing, ‘Audiotel’ toll phone numbers, surcharged SMSs, debit, credit and prepaid payment cards, as well as its own e-purse, Hipay. It serves 66 countries.
- The parent company Hi-media, created in 1996, is both a Website content editor (50 million unique visitors) and an interactive advertising agency (Hi-media Advertising division). It is present in nine European countries, as well as in the United States and Brazil. With more than 500 staff member, the group achieved 206 million euros turnover in 2009.
- Created in 2005, Owlient start-up integrates Allopass in its three simulation games, counting 16 million subscribers (horse breeding, child raising from 0 to his first school year and supermodel / fashion career management).
- Chapatiz sells its eponymous game, a virtual world designed for users aged 12 to 17. It enables them to discuss and meet their customised avatars. Allopass SMS and Audiotel solutions make it possible to purchase virtual money, called “pépettes”. These transactions are submitted to parental approval. Three million people already subscribed.
- Ekoloko, sold by Virtual Tweens, is a virtual community world designed for users aged 7 to 12. They make their avatar evolve in an environment where environmental issues are considered. They may upgrade from a free “Eko” status to a paid-for “Pionnier” premium status.
