Mobile security: partnership between Sagem Wireless and ERCOM
- Sagem Wireless and ERCOM announced a partnership aimed to develop and sell new secure mobile media. These tools would be the first to integrate protections against theft, eavesdropping and conversation as well as SMS retrieval, but also data theft (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth attacks). They should provide a strong authentication solution and Common Criteria-certified embedded security.
- A common sales channel dedicated to these products, displaying high security level, will be created in the months to come.
- In the end of April 2010 the French company ERCOM launched a new functionality based on three fundamental axes: confidentiality, integrity and authenticity and designed to secure SMSs. This tool basically addressed companies and governments. The Cryptosmart Mobile Suite security solutions, relying on a certified and patented technology based on smartcards (data protection, voice flow security and prevention of MMS, SMS and Internet-conveyed attacks) were launched in 2008.
