Cornèr Bank Launches First Contactless Visa CodeSure Card
- Visa Europe and the Swiss bank Cornèr announce commercial launching of the first contactless Visa CodeSure card. Tests on this card were being conducted since 2009 by eight European banks. It can be used at ATMs as well as in points of sale and it contributes to secure online transactions. The cardholder enters his PIN code using the twelve buttons placed at the back of the card; an eight-character OTP is then displayed on the alphanumeric screen. This code is to be reproduced in a dedicated field on the e-commerce Web site.
- The card also integrates contactless functionalities for purchases below 40 Swiss francs (about 30 euros).
